Annual Pest Conference an international event!

Sandy & Glenn have just returned from the annual Pest Managers conference in Qld which had the theme "Serving Today's Society". Not only was it the annual AEPMA (Australian Environmental Managers Association) conference, but it was also the FAOPMA (Federation of Asian & Oceania Pest Managers Association) Convention & Exhibition. This meant that there were delegates from around the world in attendance.

We go to these conferences so that we are able to keep up to date with the latest chemicals available & equipment and methods of use. We also attend lectures to further our education so that we may be able to treat the problems at your home or business armed with the most up to date information available.

This conference covered information from speakers from the UK, USA, Malaysia, Singapore, Switzerland, Japan, Western Australia and the ACT.

One of our sessions covered the topic of Customer Service in the Pest Industry. The speaker from the UK said that in Europe, there are mandatory requirements for accreditation of pest control service technicians and an increasing number of audit schemes adopted to ensure that a high level of service is maintained.

Fortunately our Pest Industry here in Australia has also seen the need to increase the level of training and improve the professionalism and reputation of Australia's pest management industry. This has seen the development of PestCert, which provides householders and business owners the opportunity to identify pest managers who are prepared to commit themselves to the highest standards of professionalism and service. PestCert accreditation requires all technicians to demonstrate an appropriate level of competency, on going skill development and compliance to industry codes and standards.

As you may be aware, Childs Pest Services are PestCert accredited, and to date are the only company in the Hawkesbury with this status. In fact, there are only 12 companies who currently service the Sydney Metro area who are accredited, with us being one
of them!
